MN101 Assessment 1: Case study Analysis

Dear Students,

For your Literature Review: 

Select from the essay topics below:

 Organisational Structures in a Firm; or

 Goal Setting and Management in a Global Environment; or

 Strategy Formulation within Strategic Management.

In this assignment; locate, summarise, and analyse six academic sources.

1.  Identify six (6) academic sources that could be used in your essay (i.e: assignment 2).

The six academic sources should include:

1.1 two books (or chapters, sections),

1.2 two articles, and

1.3 two other sources of your choice (e.g. newspaper article, interview, thesis, speech etc.).

2. Summarise each academic source in turn using your own words (100 – 200 words).

Where there is an abstract provide a copy of this to your lecturer (this will not be included in the word count and is for the lecturer to compare with your summary).

3. Analyse each academic source by providing your views and reaction to the arguments in the material (100 – 200 words)

4. Provide an end text reference of the academic sources using APA referencing.

5. At the end provide a brief half page section, outline

(a) what you have learnt from this exercise; and

(b) how you plan to use this material in your essay (assignment two).
